Melody is a ten-year old
rabbit. She is kind-hearted and helpful.
So, she is rather popular among her classmates. However, in her
teachers’ eyes, she is an absent-minded student.
One day, Melody’s teacher
arranged a picnic with her and a few classmates. Melody was responsible for taking
all the snacks and food from the school, which was prepared by the teacher.
Outside the school, she
met one of her classmates B-Duck. Suddenly, B-Duck tripped over a stone and
fell down on her knees. Melody saw her and immediately held her up and brought
her to the sickroom of the school.
Melody looked at her
watch and found that she was late so she hurried to the gathering place which
was a nearby bus station. Unfortunately, she was late for 30 minutes.
“Where is the food?” the
teacher asked.
“It’s here,” Melody
replied. Melody looked around but then she noticed she had forgotten to take
the bags of food and snacks.
“Oh, sorry! I left it in
the sickroom just now because I accompanied a student to there. I’m so sorry. Let
me get it back at once,” Melody gasped.
The teacher grabbed her
hand to stop her.
“Melody, it’s too late
now because this bus leaves after 5 minutes and the next bus leaves after one
hour. If we miss this bus, I don’t think
we can be on schedule,” the teacher said.
Melody apologized again
and again.
“Melody, it’s okay,” the
twins, Little Twin Stars said understandably.
“We can play for the whole afternoon and we’ve
already taken a big breakfast at McDonald’s,” Rilakuma said softly and
comforted her.
“It’s okay to skip just
one meal,” Hello Kitty agreed.
The whole afternoon, the
teachers and the classmates had nothing to eat and they were very hungry. They didn’t blame her but Melody felt very
guilty. She realized that it was her carelessness which made everyone suffer
hunger.
The next day, Melody went
to school as usual but she was still depressed because of what happened the day
before. Outside the school gate, she saw B-Duck’s parents standing there. Once
they saw Melody, they rushed to her and greeted her with a big and friendly
smile,
“Thank you so much for
helping my daughter,” said B-Duck’s parents sincerely, holding melody’s hand
tightly and thankfully.
Hearing what Mr and Mrs
B, Melody felt happy again!
